高雄又将迎来另一位国际大咖歌手！

Bruno Mars（火星人布鲁诺）宣布在 2024 年 9 月 8 日来台开唱，

继上次 2018 巡演后，这次为大家带来「Bruno Mars Live in Kaohsiung」！

这次大家就一起来复习分手、心碎时必听的《When I Was Your Man》，

并从中学英文吧！

请注意，歌词容易让人破防：（

MV 并没有什么特别的，就只是 Bruno Mars 自弹自唱，

但看到歌词，配上他充满感情的嗓音，真的会让人令人心碎：（

这首歌没有官方中文翻译，不过小编看过有人译作《当我还是你的他》，

觉得很贴切！

Verse 1 第一段主歌

同一张床，但现在睡起来感觉更空了

广播在放我们最爱的歌，但听起已经不一样了

Tear sth./sb. down｜摧毁（某物／某人）

这边的 “tear” 和眼泪是同样拼法，但不同读音，念作 /ter/，

当动词指「撕碎」，如 “tear a piece of paper into half”（把一张纸撕一半），

三态为 "tear-tore-torn"。

片语 “tear down” 指「摧毁」、「拆除」，如 “tear the building down”（拆除建筑物）。

这边用在人，指「让某人崩溃」。

【例句】

「Should have＋过去分词」的句型属于「与过去事实相反的假设」，

白话一点就是「该这样做，但那时没这样做」，

非正式书写常会缩写成 “should’ve”，

念起来像 “shoulda”，所以网路上也常看到这样的拼法。

副歌讲述主角懊悔当初没有好好把握那位爱人，

已经分开了才想到要如何对她好，但都来不及了：（

名词 “pride” 中文可以翻作「骄傲」，正面和负面意思都有。

在这边指的是负面的「自负、自大」。

另外片语 “take pride in sth.” 是「以...感到自豪」

【例句】

Haunt｜纠缠

动词 "haunt" 指「纠缠」、「阴魂不散」，通常会用在「鬼魂纠缠某人」，

鬼屋英文就是 "haunted house"。

也可以用来说「某事在某人脑中挥之不去」，

歌词指的是「主角的错误让前任离开」一事一直纠缠著他。

【例句】
