cold fish

用来形容情绪不会表露出来的人。

【例句】
She is such a cold fish that it’s hard to know what she is thinking about.

to drink like a fish

像鱼一样的喝，表示喝很多，尤其指喝很多酒。

【例句】
He drank like a fish when he was in Germany during Oktoberfest.

big fish

意指非常重要、有权力或是具有影响力的人。

【例句】
My father is a big fish in his company. Every employee respects him a lot.

a big fish in a small pond

字面上是一条大鱼在小池塘中，也就是一个小地方或小公司的大人物。

【例句】
Jason became manager at the age of 25 that colleagues all think he is a big fish in a small pond.

like a fish out of water

像一只不在水中的鱼，衍伸的意思是在一个不熟悉的环境中感到尴尬、不自在，或是觉得不属于这里的一部分。

【例句】

My mother felt like a fish out of water in her first dancing class, because the average age of the students is under 20.
我妈妈在她第一堂舞蹈课感到很不自在，因为学生的平均年龄低于20岁。

挤得像罐头里的沙丁鱼一样，也就是尽可能将将物品塞满，或是人努力地挤进去。

to have the memory of a goldfish

拥有金鱼的记忆，也就是我们所熟知的金鱼脑啦！用来形容人们记忆非常的差，很容易忘东忘西。

a different kettle of fish

kettle是水壶的意思，不同水壶的鱼的意思衍伸为现在提及的事物，跟刚刚是截然不同的。

bigger fish to fry

字面上是还有更大的鱼要去炸，代表还有更重要的事情要做。
