要用英文说食物好吃，

你马上想到的单字是不是delicious或yummy呢？

这篇除了要教你delicious跟yummy的替换字，

还要教你如何描述食物不美味！

〈形容食物美味〉

1.zesty 美味的

使用这个字的时机通常是在形容口感丰富，甚至是辛辣的食物喔！

【例句】

The chili con carne she makes is the zestiest in the world.

她做的墨西哥辣肉酱是世界最好吃的！

 

2.flavorful 好吃的

通常会使用这个单字，是指调味很棒！

举个例子：

如果你煮了一份好喝的浓汤，

你再加上黑胡椒粉，让汤更美味，就可以使用flavorful喔！

【例句】

This Caesar dressing is flavorful.

这个凯萨酱味道很棒！ 

 

3.delectable 美味的

这个单字是形容食物超级美味，也就是super delicious的意思，可以用来拍妈妈的马屁喔！

【例句】

Do you know where I can get delectable cheesecakes in Taipei?

你知道台北哪里有超好吃的起司蛋糕吗？

 

4.tasty 可口的

tasty这个单字就是单纯指好吃，

但没有更深层的含义（像是口感丰富、香辣美味）。

【例句】

I always buy my breakfast at this shop because its sandwich is tasty.

我总是在买这家早餐店的三明治，因为很好吃！

 

5.mouth-watering 令人垂涎的

这个单字是使用在看到食物或闻到食物就已经引起食欲的时候喔！

白话一点就是闻到或看到就让人流口水想吃啦！

【例句】

My mom is baking an apple pie now. The smell makes me mouthwatering.

我妈妈正在烤苹果派，那个香味让我流口水啦！

 

6.scrumptious 极美味的

scrumptious也是非常美味的意思，

美味到让你连任何一点残渣都不想留下来！ 

【例句】

You must try the steak in that new restaurant; it is scrumptious!

你一定要去试看看那家新餐厅的牛排，超级好吃的！

 

7.appetizing 开胃的

appetizing是指食物看起来很吸睛又美味，或是味道就令人食指大动，

也可以说食物非常开胃，这也就是appetizer开胃菜的由来！

【例句】

This pizza not only looks appetizing but also tastes amazing!

这份披萨看起来不美味，但其实惊为天人！

 

〈形容食物不美味〉

1.rancid 腐坏的

rancid是指腐坏，通常是指油、奶油、肉类的变质。

【例句】

Better is perishable and turns rancid in this weather.

奶油在这个天气很容易腐坏。

 

2.tasteless 平淡无味的

tasteless就是没有味道的意思，

会用在调味料过少或是忘了加调味料的时时候。

【例句】

The spaghetti in this restaurant is tasteless. I won’t go for the second time.

这家餐厅的义大利面一点味道也没有，我不会再去光顾了。

 

3.unsavory 难吃的

unsavory是指味道难闻、没有味道，或是口感不佳难吃。

【例句】

To many foreigners, stinky tofu is too unsavory to accept.

对很多外国人来说，臭豆腐难吃到难以令人接受。

 

4.flavorless 没有味道的

flavorless比tasteless更没有风味，

可能是没有加任何调味，或是该有的调味都没有。

比如说，酸辣汤，一点酸、一点辣也没有，

你就可以用flavorless这个单字喔！

【例句】

I forgot to put the fish sauce into the pho, so it is flavorless.

我忘了加鱼露了，所以河粉少了一味啊！

 

5.inedible 不宜食用的

inedible是用在可能食物已经腐坏或是烧焦时。

【例句】

Amy, this sausage is too burnt; therefore, it is inedible.

Amy，这根香肠已经太焦了，所以不要吃了啦！

 

6.stale 走味的

这个单字是指，食物已经坏掉不能吃了，

可能是放太久，或是天气炎热而腐坏。

【例句】

These eggs had gone stale because they were bought 2 weeks ago.

这些蛋已经不新鲜了，因为是两周前买的。

 

7.yucky 恶心的

yucky就是指食物个口感特别恶心，让人难以下咽。

【例句】

Many children think pepper, onions eggplants, and carrots are yucky.

很多小孩觉得青椒、洋葱、茄子、红萝卜很恶心！

stringy (a.) 牵丝的

springy  (a.) 弹牙的

tender (a.) 软嫩的

strong (a.) 口味较重的

greasy (a.) 油腻的

salty (a.) 咸的

light (a.) 清淡的

hot/ spicy (a.) 辣的

sour (a.) 酸的

tart (a.) 酸的 (与sour意思相同，但tart比较少带有负面意思)

bitter (a.) 苦的

bland (a.) 平淡无味的

raw (a.) 生的，未煮熟的

burned (a.) 烧焦的

smoky (a.) 烟熏的

savoury (a.) 咸的或辣的，非甜味

moist (a.) 湿软的

firm (a.) 扎实的

crispy (a.) 酥脆的，卡滋作响的

crunchy (a.) 酥脆的

creamy (a.) 软滑的

chewy (a.) 有嚼劲的

fluffy (a.) 松软的

slimy/gooey (a.) 黏稠的

loose (a.) 松软的

rubbery (a.) 嚼不断的
