你用对了吗？破解 another、other、the other、the others 的英文陷阱！

看到 another、other、the other、the others，是不是常搞不清楚？这几个字长得像，意思却不太一样。别担心，这里用简单口诀＋蛋糕例子一次解开你的疑惑！

� 口诀速记：

� another：不特定、单一个
� other：不特定、一群人／东西
� the other：特定，剩下的一个或几个
� the others：特定，剩下的全部（当代名词用）

another = 另一个（单数，不特定）

� 口诀：「还想要一个，不管哪个！」

� 用来指某一类中的「另一个」，但不是特定哪一个。只能修饰单数可数名词，也可以单独当代名词使用。

例句：

• I want anotherpiece of cake.
  我想再吃一块蛋糕。
• This cake is delicious. Can I have another?
  这块蛋糕很好吃。我可以再来一块吗？

other = 其他的（通常为复数，不特定）

� 口诀：「其他的，不指定。」

� 指一群「不特定的其他人或事物」，常接复数名词。有时也可以搭配 any、some 接单数或不可数名词。

例句：

• Do you have othercakes to try?
  你有其他蛋糕可以让我试试吗？
• Do you have any otherflavor of cake?
  你有其他口味的蛋糕吗？
• She wants some other
  她想要一些其他的建议。

the other = 另一个或其余的（特定）

� 口诀：「就剩下那个／那几个了！」

� 表示已知范围中「特定的另一个或剩下的几个」。后面可以接单数或复数名词。

例句（单数）：

• I have two pieces of cake. One is chocolate; the otheris vanilla.
  我有两块蛋糕，一块是巧克力口味，另一块是香草口味。

例句（复数）：

• Three pieces of cake are gone. The other piecesare still on the plate.
  三块蛋糕吃完了，其他的还在盘子里。

the others = 剩下的那些（代名词）

� 口诀：「剩下的那些人／东西，全包了！」

� 当代名词使用，是「the other + 名词」的简化。只能单独使用，后面不能接名词。

例句：

• Five pieces of cake were on the table. Two were eaten, and the otherswere saved for later.
  桌上有五块蛋糕，两块被吃掉了，其他的被留著等会儿吃。
